Ephesus from Izmir

Meet the guide at the port and transfer by coach to the archaeological historical site of Ephesus, the best kept Greek-Roman city today.
Home to important philosophers, it developed during the Hellenistic and Roman periods, when it became the chief town of the Asia province. A rich city, it did not deprive itself of symbols that bore witness to its power, embellishing itself with exceptional monuments and works.

Of international importance is the Temple of Artemis, considered one of the seven wonders of the world.
Among the ruins, it is possible to admire the theatre, gymnasium, baths, agorà and the library of Celsus.

Following this return to the past, we will transfer to the house, believed to be the last home of Mary, the mother of Jesus: it is small rectangular and made of stone, with a flat roof and hearth at the centre, hidden among the woods on the outskirts of the city.
Today it is a popular place of pilgrimage.

Return to the port.
