Having reached the port of Marseille, meet the guide to start our visit of the city.

We will climb to the top of the majestic Cathedral of Our Lady of Guardia, a 19th century monument, symbol of the city and very dear to the residents of Marseille.

From the top of the hill which is its home, it is possible to see an exceptional view of the city. Descending seawards, we will pass by the “Velodrome” to reach the “Radiant City” of the Le Corbusier district, which bears witness to the modern conception of living unit.

Stop off at the small port of “Vallons des Auffes“, small fishing village, which seems to have come straight out of an illustrated book. Along the panoramic route we will discover the Abbey of Saint Victor (11th century) and the Fortress which dominates the entrance to the old port, pearl of the city.

Passing by the “Canebière” the symbol and heart of the city and its port, we will reach the Palace of Longchamp, monument of 1869, which celebrates and commemorates an important resource for the city: water. The imposing monumental fountain at the centre of the colonnade is the work of Jules Cavelier and surrounded by figures which symbolise the vineyard and the wheat on a cart pulled by bulls of Camargue.

The tour will end with the panoramic view of the modern “Euroméditerranée” which aims to make Marseille a modern European metropolis.
