Istanbul city tour

Meet the guide and reach the square of the ancient Byzantine Hippodrome in one of the best known districts and city centre.

We will visit the Basilica of Saint Sophia, remembered for its large cupola. Today it is a museum, after being a Catholic Church until the fall of Constantinople and then a mosque; we will admire the largest and most fascinating religious temple present in the capital: the Blue Mosque, opposite the Basilica, features majolica which also clad its interior.

We will continue to Topkapi Palace, the primary residence of the Ottoman Sultans, positioned on a promontory overlooking the Bosphorous and the Golden Horn, from where we can immortalise breathtaking panoramas.

The inside of the palace features a labyrinth of constructions, with rich and colourful gardens and courtyards.

Free time for lunch, followed by a thrilling shopping experience at the Gran Bazaar, a labyrinth of roads and passageways, with more than 4000 shops.

Turkish craftwork offers delightful gifts and souvenirs: rugs, hand-painted ceramics, copper and brass items, gold jewels, excellent quality leather articles, spices of a thousand colours and fragrances.
